In the wrestling world today, there is argubaly no bigger babyface than Cody Rhodes. Every time he walks into an arena, whether it is Paris, Toronto, or New York, people love to WOAH to his entrance music. But it isn’t only because of his family name or support from the officials. Rhodes has a natural charisma that speaks for itself whether it’s a mic segment or a big-time match.

So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this wrestling veteran, who has already gone through most indie wrestlers, wants Rhodes to be his final opponent before retiring.

This wrestling veteran confirms his dream match opponent

Closing in on his 30th anniversary, wrestling veteran Homicide declared in an interview that he would like to wrestle Rhodes for his last match. Having wrestled in Impact!, ROH, and still working for the NWA, Homicide is a well-versed wrestler who has wrestled a lot of wrestlers who have become top stars like Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Jon Moxley, among others.

I love Dusty Rhodes and his family. I’m a big mark for West Texas guys. He’s the son of the West Texas Rhodes. Look at the name. With Cody Rhodes, it’s magical. He’s like one of those guys. Forget about the future of pro wrestling, he is the future. I’m wrestling for 29 years, I’m trying to go for 30 and that’s it. I would feel like Terry Funk, but you never know.

Homicide had a great run in Impact as part of the tag team LAX, where he won the tag team titles on a number of occasions.

After he left WWE, Rhodes worked in every single building that would take him. As he revealed during an interview with Logan Paul, Rhodes went from backyard stages to big-time arenas when he reshaped his wrestling career. But that wasn’t where he stopped. He ensured to start of a place, AEW, that would invite new talents and be a grand place for indie wrestlers.

Going from a bloody war with the late Brodie Lee to shocking everyone with a first-class match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38, Rhodes has come a long way. So, Homicide’s dream opponent Rhodes doesn’t come as a shock. In addition to that, Rhodes has indeed the blood of the Rhodes family and was born and brought up in the West Texas scene.
