During an episode of WWE SmackDown in March of this year, it was revealed that Logan Paul‘s PRIME Hydration has partnered with the WWE. The United States Champion unveiled his PRIME logo on the mat, raising a huge debate over the first-ever in-ring sponsorship. Despite Randy Orton arriving to cut the celebrations short, the logo has remained over multiple PLEs, including WrestleMania XL. However, the logo was gone during the Saudi Arabia King and Queen of the Ring PLE.

But why? Especially when Paul acted as a crucial component of the show as he faced Cody Rhodes at the show for the WWE Undisputed Universal title. Despite his brass knuckle shenanigans, the special guest ring announcer Ibrahim Al Hajjaj thwarted his efforts to win the title.

While the PRIME logo was missing from the mat, the PRIME Hydration station was also missing from the ringside. However, Paul was seen holding a bottle of PRIME twice during the match. When he entered, he held a green PRIME bottle and a blue one when he was aided by his entourage. The reason this was back in 2014, Saudi Arabia banned the sale of energy drinks. The government outlawed all forms of advertising for energy drinks, including the sponsorship logos at any sporting, social, or cultural events. But, wait, aren’t PRIME Hydration and PRIME Energy different products?

The answer to that question is yes and no. While PRIME Hydration is not categorized under the energy drink label, the association with PRIME Energy was enough to get the logo removed. While Paul did get his product placement in, that was the most the government allowed to be shown. Due to the high amounts of caffeine present in energy drinks, the government labeled them as harmful. PRIME Energy contains 200 mg of caffeine, which is a no-go in Saudi. But why does Paul get special treatment?

Despite the ban on energy drinks, Paul still has a massive following in the region. The former Youtuber has a legion of fans which many claimed was the reason why he was put in the main event match twice. In 2019, Paul took on Roman Reigns for the same title Rhodes holds today. Despite losing both times, getting the main event spot so quickly in his career in the WWE clearly shows what a massive draw he is.

With Paul defeated, there are possibilities of a rematch due to the involvement of Ibrahim Al Hajjaj. The next PLE will be Clash at the Castle: Scotland, which will take place in June.
