Logan Paul is undoubtedly one of the best surprises of recent years. Before his debut in the promotion, expectations for the internet star’s prowess in the ring remained low. But once he showcased his full arsenal, most fans and legends of the discipline immediately changed their minds. The Maverick currently holds the United States Championship, a title he declined to defend at King and Queen of the Ring against Cody Rhodes. As he opted to only put the American Nightmare’s Undisputed WWE title on the line.

However, during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, LA Knight headed to General Manager Nick Aldis’ office to request a shot at the title against Logan Paul. Something that seemed unexpected for many. However, it actually wasn’t. As social media just uncovered a long-term storytelling move by the WWE!

In recent months, there has been recurring speculation about the possibility of LA Knight and Logan Paul facing off against one another for the United States Championship. So far, this possibility has not been confirmed, and it remains to be seen if WWE intends to carry out this match. Nonetheless, L.A. Knight seems ready for the challenge. In fact, he has been ready since 2020.

Before Logan Paul transitioned to wrestling, he was trying to have boxing matches and other feuds that would help him transition to fighting. And during one such attempt, Paul tweeted that he would pay $10,000 to any influencer who could beat him in a wrestling match.

And this surely caught the attention of LA Knight. As he replied to Maverick’s tweet by simply asking him to define ‘influencer.’ Now that’s some crazy coincidence, right? But that’s not all. Back in 2023, Knight was embroiled in a rivalry with The Miz. The public has repeatedly made several comparisons between them. Especially due to their level on the microphone when it comes to delivering promos. And during an appearance on WWE’s show ‘The Bump, Knight revealed his plans after his rivalry with Miz. He said he would be coming for Logan Paul.

The Twitter feud that foreshadows it all

“Logan Paul is another guy who reminds me of The Miz. The difference is Logan Paul is a new face to this whole thing. But they kinda remind me of one and the same. Two guys who have gotten to ride that elevator ride straight to the top. And good for you. I can’t say anything wrong with that. If they’re going to give it to you, go ahead and take full advantage. But you got to understand that I’m going to come up and pull that carpet right out from under you. And he might be one of the next ones,” said the SmackDown star.

In addition to the former Max Dupri, Carmelo Hayes has also shown interest in a title opportunity. We will see how the situation develops in the coming weeks. Maybe the WWE can book a Triple-Threat match between the three. And the Maverick surely had proven his might in the Triple-Threat match at WrestleMania. So it would be interesting to see how he manages to come out of this one. What do you think? Was it just a coincidence or signs of some long-term booking at play? Let us know in the comments.
