In the last few months, SmackDown star LA Knight has had a bittersweet time in WWE. While he has received tremendous love from fans, Knight has been criticized for a lack of authenticity. A WWE Hall of Famer has called out the 40-year-old for copying Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. But that hasn’t deterred him. This Friday night, Knight name-dropped Will Smith to roast a 33-year-old WWE star.
Fans, as usual, reacted to the roast. They also had a good laugh at the 33-year-old’s expense.

Earlier this month, the WWE was castigated by fans for keeping LA Knight’s segment out of their TV slot. SmackDown’s July 7 episode emanated from the iconic Madison Square Garden. While Knight was present, he was involved in a dark segment with the Hit Row stable- comprising Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla, and B-Fab.
Learning from that episode, WWE gave Knight and the three stars TV time, where he roasted them once again. He was particularly brutal on 33-year-old Top Dolla.
At MSG, he crashed the Hit Row’s party and single-handedly took out the male stars. On Friday, he challenged Adonis and defeated him. But before the bout, he destroyed the stable on the mic.

“I knew Will Smith was in the game but I didn’t know Uncle Phil became a rapper,” he told Top Dolla, incensing the star. Fans, on the other hand, couldn’t control their laughter at the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reference.
LA Knight’s Uncle Phil diss strikes a chord with fans
Alongside his wrestling skills, LA Knight also has a robust mic game. His ‘Let me talk to Yeah’ has become a huge hit among the faithful. In fact, Knight utters the phrase every time he enters the arena now, much to the crowd’s liking.
So, when Knight name-dropped Will Smith and Uncle Phil, people couldn’t help but have a hearty laugh.
This person asked Knight to go easy on Uncle Phil, a beloved character.

Now, in case you’re wondering who Phil is and what he has to do with Top Dolla, here’s the reference. Before becoming a Hollywood megastar, Will Smith acted as his namesake in the hit American sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. James Avery, who played Philip Banks, took care of Smith, who fondly called him Uncle Phil. Top Dolla resembles a young Avery, prompting the comparison from Knight.
Lmao!! LA Knight! U got me with that Uncle Phil joke🤣🤦🏾♀️ @RealLAKnight pic.twitter.com/pmWvktnvCG

Will Smith is also a rapper. The actor has tried his hand at the musical form and has had success. Dolla is also a rapper, thus the “I didn’t know Uncle Phil became a rapper” diss was a pretty strong one.

The sitcom was a major hit and ran for six seasons. It has since then become a part of pop culture. The diss though seems like it’s going to stick with fans for longer.
