Liv Morgan was last seen on WWE programming on May 12th. During an edition of Raw, the then-Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, defended their titles against Bayley and Dakota Kai. However, a mishap during the match rendered Morgan injured. On the latest edition of UpUp DownDown, Liv Morgan provided a concerning update on her injury. 

Following Morgan’s injury, Raquel Rodriguez was forced to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Several reports indicated that Liv is dealing with a severe shoulder injury. Morgan recently confirmed the severity of her shoulder injury. And judging by the magnitude of her condition, she may stay out of the ring for a long time.

Liv Morgan may remain on the shelf for months

While making an appearance on UpUp DownDown stream, Liv Morgan revealed that she is currently nursing a torn shoulder. Although Liv is out of commission, she displayed her competitive spirit while competing for the UpUp DownDown Championship. An ever so jovial Liv jested that she could beat Mansoor “with one shoulder”.

It should also be noted that Dakota Kai suffered a torn ACL during the same match while trying to minimize Morgan’s injury. The update on Liv Morgan’s injury has raised a cause for concern among her fans. Some fans on Twitter are certain that the injury would keep her from action for 4-6 months. 

While she was absent from the ring, Raquel Rodriguez teamed up with Shotzi to chase the vacated Women’s Tag Team Championship in a four-way match on May 29th. But, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler emerged as the new titleholders.

Interestingly, the Women’s Tag Team Championship was vacated for the second time in WWE. Before Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, Sasha Banks and Naomi relinquished the tag titles

Back in April, Liv Morgan and Raquel defeated Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. The win marked Morgan’s first reign as the Women’s Tag Team Champion. On the other hand, it was Raquel Rodriguez’s second reign as the Women’s Tag Team Champion. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez managed to hold on to the titles for just 39 days. 

Sadly, the duo had to give away titles they never lost. At this point, with Morgan missing in action, it remains to be seen if Rodriguez and Morgan join hands and chase the titles upon the latter’s return.

Liv Morgan has had a terrific run in WWE so far. The 28-year-old became the SmackDown Women’s Champion last year after cashing her Money in the Bank contract on Ronda Rousey. We will have to wait and see how soon Morgan recovers and hits the ring again.
