The finisher of a pro wrestler defines their fate. While superstars may put their bodies on the line if the finishing move isn’t clicking with fans or doesn’t justify their character, their momentum and growth can seriously get affected. However, one superstar whose finisher is as popular and devastating if not more than his name itself is Brock Lesnar and his F5.

Recently, in a candid conversation, an ex-WWE legend mentioned details about the F5 and how hard it is to take.

Matt Hardy is one of the biggest legends in WWE, who is now working under their rival promotion to AEW. The superstar who debuted in 1994 along with his brother Jeff Hardy fought Lesnar in an intense feud.

Lesnar, who made his debut in 2002, had his first feud in WWE with the Hardy Boys. While he defeated Jeff Hardy via knockout at his official debut PPV, Backlash 2002, he laid waste to Matt Hardy before that on an episode of Raw.

While talking on his podcast, the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast, Hardy spoke about receiving one of the most iconic finishers in WWE and its impact.

Receiving it initially, he said: “That was tough, he did it as safe as he could, I landed as safe as I could, but it was hard.”

He further explained the landing by saying: “If you’re thrown off where your body is level, then you have a pretty good opportunity to control yourself but if you’re thrown and your feet are higher than your head or your head is way higher than your feet, it’s a little tricky trying to land flat.

The arc saw Lesnar giving an F5 to Matt, which resulted in Jeff stepping in to face Lesnar at Backlash to avenge his brother. But interestingly, the F5 isn’t the hardest move to take.

In the same podcast, Hardy mentioned how he’d prefer the F5 compared to the Power Bomb. He said: “I’d rather take the F-5 all day long. Idk, the power bombs back to back, the guy has to hold you, and you don’t necessarily hit as flat as you want to it’s like back-to-back impact”

In the end, it worked out for WWE, as they successfully managed to portray Lesnar as a killing machine. But credit to the Hardy Boyz for putting their bodies on the line and putting over a rising star. These are some of the reasons why it makes them one of the biggest legends in WWE of all time.
