CM Punk’s groundbreaking return to the WWE at the Survivor Series PLE last month brought a lot of drama to the lore. By making a highly anticipated comeback after 10 years, The Second City Saint instantly elevated himself to a heroic figure and garnered a maddening reception. However, not everyone in the business was as happy as the others. The key member of his exceptional group is none other than Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

Amidst the growing discussion on their potential WrestleMania clash, Rollins finally spilled his first thought after seeing Punk return to a familiar territory.

The Visionary made his feelings known on the very first night of Punk’s return through a bizarre segment. He looked legitimately angry and threw tantrums after the event.

Rollins never shied away from voicing his disdain for Punk in several interviews and events. The duo also had a bitter falling out during the Chicago-based star’s tenure as a backstage contributor. Rollins even labeled CM Punk as a cancer earlier this year.

Now, he’s calling him a ghost. During a recent interview, Rollins noted that he felt a wave of mixed emotions including disappointment, etc after seeing him in the ring at Survivor Series Wargames.

”Like you’d seen a ghost, but a ghost you really wanna punch in the mouth”, he noted.

We need to see what the bad blood between them will produce ahead of their inevitable rivalry that will take center stage soon.

But even before that, let’s take a quick recap of the entire timeline of their heated rivalry.

How did the epic CM Punk- Seth Rollins start?

Back in 2019, the entire wrestling world was left awestruck when CM Punk made a temporary return to the WWE fold, not to have a dance inside the squared circle but to manage the Backstage affairs for a show airing on Fox. It led him to engage in a verbal tussle with the reigning World Heavyweight Champion spreading from the television Twitterverse. Rollins challenged him to a match.

Punk brutally fired back and asked him to stay a fool instead. The verbal war continued with The Visionary again throwing jabs at Punk, calling him a coward.

Months later, following the AEW All Out controversy, Rollins called Punk a cancer and asked him to stay away even from the thought of getting back with WWE.
