A historic WWE Backlash event took place yesterday in the city of Lyon, France. Before the PLE began, and as has been customary for years, the company aired a special show called Countdown to Backlash. Which, on this occasion, had Big E and CM Punk as guests. The show was held in the studios of WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. A building that has left the comic note of the day.

How? Well, because CM Punk shared a funny anecdote and revealed that he was locked in the facility while he was changing! And he actually shared footage of him being all alone in the HQ.

CM Punk did not travel to France this weekend with WWE for SmackDown and Backlash, but he did participate in the kickoff of the Premium Live Event as a preview that took place at WWE headquarters an hour before the main show. However, Punk couldn’t leave when he had planned. And this is what it actually legitimately looked like.

Through a series of stories on his Instagram account, CM Punk said that he had been locked in the WWE headquarters while changing clothes in a locker room, so he decided to go to the gym that is in the building and walk around it while showing different areas in several videos. In his stories, we can see Punk entering several rooms of the building, looking at different images that are framed, such as those of Roxanne Perez and Trick Williams winning the most NXT titles. Finally, Punk saw a statue of Andre the Giant and hit him in the crotch. Well, it surely was a hilarious moment for the fans to see. And they surely want more hilarious in-ring promos as well. So what’s the update on his return?

Currently, Punk continues to recover after undergoing surgery on a triceps injury earlier this year. Despite his medical leave, the wrestler has continued to appear on the company’s television programming, both on the weekly shows and at the commentary table of the most recent Countdown shows.

As the time comes for his long-awaited comeback, Punk continues to keep alive a very personal rivalry with Drew McIntyre, whom he cost the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL. His last appearance took place on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw. After playing cat-and-mouse with the Scotsman, Punk promises him that, once he returns, he will make his life a living hell.
