In his most recent acting gig, former WWE legend Adam Copeland aka Edge, will be taking on the role of Ares in the upcoming Percy Jackson show, which is to be released in 2024. As part of this, Copeland became the butt of several jokes, as critics mocked him for his outfit at the show’s red carpet premiere on December 11.

Now, the current AEW superstar did not take it kindly and has hit back at critics for mocking his fashion sense. He took to social media to respond immediately and remind everyone that his fashion sense, especially when it comes to hats and his fashion acumen, is way older than most critics would like to believe.

Edge aka Adam Copeland shows off his top game to Hollywood

Former WWE superstar aka Edge was recently featured in the latest adaptation of the Percy Jackson and The Olympians franchise. Hence, he was also seen at the premiere of the show where he dressed up in a red patterned suit with a wide-brimmed fedora to match, complete with a feather in his hat. However, Hollywood did not seem to take too kindly to the Edge’s fashion sensibilities, following which Copeland decided to put them in their place.

His tweet consisted of a few pictures from his wrestling days with WWE that showed him wearing a hat. The tweet was made on December 15th on X with the caption, “Some folks seem perplexed I went full Ares/Michael Hayes/Macho Man/Prince/Slick at the Percy Jackson premier. I will remind you newbies my hat game goes WAY back. #FashionGodofWar

A few of those pictures were from segments before he became a WWE Champion that showed a funny side to his character. One picture showed him with a beanie hat and another is probably from his famous Brood entrance at WrestleMania.

AEW’s most recent main roster addition, Adam Copeland, entry into the Percy Jackson world is a surprise to be sure. While Copeland has made several appearances in Hollywood, including in the 2000 Highlander movie, as well as most recently in Money Plane, this will be his most big-ticket appearance yet. He was seen in the trailer for the show for a short span, where it can be seen that he’ll be playing the role of Ares.
