On 24th August, wrestling fans woke up to the shocking news of Bray Wyatt’s death. He was just 36 years old and died of a heart attack in his sleep. This tragic news shook the entire wrestling world, and some fans are still coming to terms with his loss. But there was something that fans were hoping to happen that would keep Wyatt’s memory alive in the WWE.

Sadly, that won’t be seeing the light of day according to backstage reports.

Backstage plans for Uncle Howdy have been scrapped

After being released from the WWE as part of the budget cuts of 2021, Bray Wyatt finally returned in October 2022. This was followed by the appearance of a character named Uncle Howdy, who was played by Wyatt’s brother, Bo Dallas. Post that, Wyatt and LA Knight got into a feud and they had a Pitch Black match at Royal Rumble 2023.

At Royal Rumble, Wyatt defeated Knight. At the end of the match, Uncle Howdy performed a diving elbow drop from a 20ft high platform onto Knight. This would be Wyatt’s last televised appearance in the WWE.

Post that, Bobby Lashley was targeted by the duo, and Uncle Howdy even confronted him on SmackDown in early March. That would also be Uncle Howdy’s final appearance in the WWE. Then, following Wyatt’s death, there were rumors that WWE would be reviving Uncle Howdy’s character for backstage segments. Sadly, that might never happen as trusted backstage source BWE has reported that, “Backstage plans for Uncle Howdy have been scrapped”.

This news left Wyatt fans very disheartened as they were hoping that Uncle Howdy would keep Wyatt’s memory alive in the WWE. Will Uncle Howdy ever appear in the WWE again? Only time will tell.

However, this isn’t the first time that plans for Uncle Howdy had been scrapped.

Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania 39

After Bray Wyatt defeated LA Knight at Royal Rumble, he was supposed to start a feud with Uncle Howdy. This feud would eventually lead to a match between the two at WrestleMania 39.

Then those plans were scrapped and Bobby Lashley was eventually slated to face Wyatt at WrestleMania 39. But sadly, Wyatt took a break from wrestling citing illness.

Then Lashley was instead added to the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal for WrestleMania 39. But why do you think that WWE has scrapped backstage plans for Uncle Howdy?
