Did Cody Rhodes really deserve all the hate he got in WWE, or was it just jealousy?

Cody Rhodes‘ tagline “from undesirable to undeniable” fits his wrestling career perfectly. However, it doesn’t just apply to him. One of his friends on the roster didn’t have it easy for himself either. Despite being the “Megastar” on Friday Night SmackDown, LA Knight had to face hardships, trying to establish himself in the pro wrestling industry.

Not only was his road to entering the sports entertainment business difficult, but even when he had entered, it took him a considerable amount of time to get others to like him. In a recent conversation with the reigning WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, Knight revealed why people didn’t like him backstage.

There was a time in Knight’s professional life, like many other wrestlers before him, when he harbored doubts whether he would be fit to be a full-time wrestler. However, he believed in himself enough to make it through. Despite joining the performance center over at WWE and even while working in TNA, the wrestler had a tough time fitting in with his colleagues. While talking to Rhodes on his brief show What Do You Wanna Talk About posted on WWE’s official YouTube channel, LA Knight revealed why he had trouble getting contracts: “Rubbing people the wrong way. I lack people skills. It’s been said of me and it’s probably true...Not everybody, but a lot of the guys hated me. The first time I was at the performance center, everybody hated me. And then when I first went to TNA, everybody hated me.

Fans who may be worrying about Knight feeling lonely backstage can relax knowing that he also revealed how people change their perspective of him once they get to know him personally. Usually after working with enough people backstage and spending time with them, the WWE star has found solace in the fact that he can be himself.

Before becoming a prominent name on the active WWE roster, LA Knight had to do some acting gigs to keep his pockets filled and be professionally productive in case his dream plan didn’t work out. This is the time when the wrestling hunk also did some commercials. In an interview on After The Bell, he recalled his acting days and talked about how he once got a gig where he used to act in a commercial for a regional casino. Although it may not have been on his to-do list, Knight revealed that those were some quick 800 bucks that he made at the time.

In another interview with the same host, Knight revealed that he once played ‘Mario’ on the popular sitcom in Season 2 Episode 17. He appeared for some brief screen time during a flashback scene with Terry Crews’ character. Although the script had names and dialogues for his part, it was cut at the last moment by the production crew due to unknown reasons.
