The jolly-hearted talent was widely regarded as one of the most gifted technical wrestlers and having a great sense of humor. His final match occurred back in June 2023, in which he successfully retained his Resurgence Arthouse Championship title.

From WWE, JD McDonagh was amongst the first to react to the distressing event. He took to his Instagram story to bid the star goodbye with a brief melancholic note. He wrote, ”Rest in Peace Kurtis.No idea what else to say. Heartbreaking.”
