Hulk Hogan has had one hell of a story in pro wrestling, brother! Despite having many altercations with WWE, The Hulkster is always had an idiosyncratic connection with the WWE fandom.

He played a significant part in the transformation of WWE in the 90s, which was a milestone for the company’s success.

Moreover, Hulk Hogan’s popularity never faded away even when he parted ways with WWE and eventually came back. In 2002, the 49-year-old Hulkamania headlined the Grandest Stage of Them All with The Rock. Recently. WWE legend Kurt Angle talked about Hogan in that spectacular Icon vs Icon match, during his podcast.

The 49-Year-Old Hulk Hogan Evoking Nostalgia in WrestleMania 18

WWE legend, Kurt Angle reflected on many of his career backlashes, unforgettable WrestleMania moments, and various other things on the latest episode of the Kurt Angle Show podcast. Speaking of Hulk Hogan after watching the video of him and Vince McMahon feuding, the ‘American Hero’ expressed his admiration towards Hulkamania.

Further, the interviewer brought up WrestleMania 18 Icon Vs Icon, where the crowd was wild for Hogan instead of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Responding to whether the big push was back to Hogan again, Angle said, “Yes, it was and Hogan deserved it. I mean, what he was able to do… Come back to WWE, get the fans behind him the way he did… At his age, at that particular time… It’s pretty incredible.”

Moreover, Kurt Angle discussed how much of a nostalgic moment it was when Hogan returned to the ring with his iconic red and yellow costume.

Oh, it’s really cool. I actually prefer real American Hulk Hogan. You know, that’s what transcended wrestling. You know, in the 80s, early 90s… Hulk Hogan, even though I didn’t watch it back then I knew who he was. He was mainstream. So knowing that that was the character he portrayed back then, it was pretty cool to be there now,” Angle added.

The Icon vs Icon on March 17, 2002, was one of the greatest WrestleMania moments of all time. After rebelliously parting ways with WWE, Hulk Hogan and his nWo partners Scott Hall and Kevin Nash with WCW gave a tough competition to WWE.

But, WWE could not put away The Hulkster as he had the entire WWE fandom cheering for him. Thus, Hogan came back to his old place in WrestleMania and kindled nostalgia despite losing to The Rock.
