Being a top guy in WWE means that wrestlers have a bit more creative freedom than compared to their colleagues. WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold medalist Kurt Angle falls in the former category. He was once the top guy in WWE and delivered many memorable segments and matches.
Speaking to Conrad Thompson on “The Kurt Angle Show“, the former champion revealed he had a lot of creative freedom during his time. Creative heads like Bruce Prichard and Vince McMahon would even call or text him about his storylines.

“They made me part of creative. When I got that top spot, the creative started calling me every week and bouncing ideas off of me and Vince would even call me at times. So I had Vince’s ear, and he had mine. And, you know, when you’re in a top spot like that, Vince wants to make sure that everything is going perfectly.
He wants to fill the talent in on what they need to do and how they’re gonna go about the next storyline or whatever it is. But you know, they throw ideas at you and you can say yes or no. For the most part, they’ll go whatever decision you decide, but you know, for me, I was game for anything. So I would just say yes. But you know, whenever creative would throw an idea of me and I’d say okay let’s do this.”
It is indeed an added bonus to have the much needed creative freedom for wrestlers. Superstars such as The Miz, John Cena, and Roman Reigns have a lot of creative freedom in both wrestling and promos.
