However, Angle revealed he gave away most of his ring gear to charity. Although this upset his wife Giovanna, she came up with a unique way to get some of his wrestling artifacts back. On the Kurt Angle Show, the Hall of Famer revealed how his wife is buying his old merchandise back on eBay.
“I kind of messed up- I didn’t mess up- I gave away most of my gear to charities and Hall of Fame’s. You know, I was never a keepsake kinda person. My wife is, so I got a lot of heat from her when she said, ‘Where is all your ring gear?’ and I said I gave it all away years ago.”
“She’s like, “Why would you do that? You gotta keep all that stuff. What about our kids? They’re gonna wanna know who their dad was and how good he was back in the day. Why would you give away your gear? So she started buying it back on eBay. So I’m buying gear like T-shirts and singlets and stuff. She’s just trying to get it all back, and we’re just ordering whatever we can to try and buy it back.
“I don’t have a lot of T-shirts that WWE and TNA made of me. So that’s what we’re buying back; we’re not really buying the ring gear back, ’cause I gave that away. But the shirts and merchandise is what we’re buying.”

On the show, a fan asked Kurt where he kept his Olympic gold medal. Angle narrated an incident of how his kids dented the medal and how it isn’t really made of gold.
“Well, I had an incident with my kids where they threw the medal into the wall and-the gold medal- part of it got dented, so I keep it in my safe. No more kid time with the medal. I used to take it with me on appearances and show people, but the gold starting wearing off. Believe it or not, a gold medal is not really gold, it’s silver.”
