Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the biggest superstars in WWE. Even though he had to retire in 2003 because of severe injuries, he had produced some of the biggest moments in the history of WWE.
Also, he had shared rivalries with some of the top WWE stars, including Triple H.
Back in 2001, Austin interfered in Triple H’s match against Kurt Angle at WWE Royal Rumble for the WWF Championship. That interference from Austin helped Angle to pick up the win over Triple H.

During the latest Royal Rumble Megasode of the Kurt Angle Show on AdFreeShows.com, Kurt Angle talked about Austin’s interference during his match against Triple H.
The WWE Hall of Famer did not like the idea of Austin interfering in the match. He admitted the match was great, but he was not delighted with Austin’s interference.
Kurt said, “It doesn’t make sense. You have a babyface that comes in and helps you win. I would have rather done it on my own. Maybe a low blow to Triple H, Angle Slam and pin him, and get the heat on my own rather than having a babyface giving me the heat.”

“I don’t think we needed Austin. Thinking back and seeing what happened, I think I should have got the heat on my own,” he added.
Why did Steve Austin interfere in Triple H’s match against Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble 2001?
Austin got involved in the match between Triple H and Kurt Angle for a reason. And that is because, on the January 8th episode of WWE Raw (previously known as Raw Is War), Triple H interfered in Austin’s match against Kurt Angle for the WWF Championship.
Because of Triple H’s interference, Kurt Angle successfully defended the WWF Championship against Stone Cold on that night.
