Getting inducted into the Hall of Fame is a lifetime achievement for any pro-wrestler. WWE has been inducting wrestlers into their Hall of Fame for three decades now. Life came full-circle for Kurt Angle when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 and was inducted by none other than John Cena.
The reason this moment became a pleasant moment for the wrestling community is that John Cena made his TV debut on SmackDown against Kurt Angle and kick-started the ‘Ruthless Aggression’ era.
So it felt right when Cena inducted Angle into the Hall of Fame and gave an emotional speech, talking about Angle’s accolades during his time with WWE.

Kurt Angle confesses that he wanted John Cena to induct him into the Hall of Fame
Recently on The Kurt Angle Show, a fan asked Angle how he felt when John Cena inducted him to the WWE Hall of Fame. The ‘Olympic Hero’ immediately confessed that he always wanted Cena to induct him.
Even Vince McMahon thought it would be perfect for Cena to do the honors. After all, Angle was the one who solidified Cena as a no-nonsense focused kid in WWE.
He said, “We don’t remain in touch that much but I respect the hell out of John. I did want him [John Cena] to induct me in the Hall of Fame… Vince McMahon decided that he wanted John to induct me in the Hall of Fame. I believe it’s because I started off John’s career with the wrestling match.”

Angle continued, “I think Vince wanted John to show his appreciation for that. I was elated. Because John is not only the most popular WWE superstar of all time, he’s an incredible speaker, he’s really articulate and innovative in his speeches. When you have someone talking about how good you are, it makes you feel really good, especially coming from a guy like John Cena.”

The two legends of the sports entertainment business would face each other multiple times during their time together in WWE. And every time they locked horns, it was an instant classic, and the WWE Universe would always love it.
