Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, the Hall of Fame legend revealed an unknown story from one of the most frightening matches of his wrestling career. It is known to us that Angle suffered a concussion after Hunter’s pedigree from the top of the announce table went south. Soon, he was called backstage after the failed spot. But surprisingly, the injured Angle came out to finish the match.

No one till now knew the reason behind this action of Kurt Angle. However, he recently narrated the anecdote of the time. 

He said, “When I went to the back, they brought me back out there to finish the match. And I walked out with Stephanie. And he said that I asked her, ‘Hey, what do I do when I get to the ring.’ She said, ‘I’ll tell you.’ So we walked down there, we get to the ring, and she goes, ‘Rock can come and hit the ropes. I want you to grab his foot.’

So I grabbed his foot when he hits the ropes, and Stephanie’s like, pull him out of the ring. So I pull them out of the ring. And I look at Stephanie, she’s just like, throw them into the damn steps,” Kurt Angle added. 

With these statements of Angle, it’s pretty clear who asked him to return to the ring and finish the match. However, along with this revelation, he also reflected on how Stephanie McMahon expected him to go by his instincts, but he didn’t have any idea of what was going on. 

Whatever the case, the WWE legend managed the entire situation. And after witnessing the terrifying injury, the promotion had to start a crucial campaign.

It was the main event of SummerSlam 2000 and the injury of Angle that gave rise to the “Don’t try this at home” campaign. In one of the previous episodes of his podcast, the legend himself said that he believes himself to be the poster child for concussions and the reason behind the start of the campaign. He once also revealed the person who put together this iconic match of his career.
