Kurt Angle Blasts WWE for Causing Harm to His Legacy by Keeping Under the Wraps Wrestler Who Gave Him “Five of His Best 10 Matches”

Kurt Angle has made several friends in his wrestling career. The wrestler has been a WWE star since 1998. Throughout his career, he has had several top matches. However, the majority of those top matches were with only one of his wrestling colleagues. Angle usually speaks highly of his former employers but took exception over their stance on Chris Benoit.

In a recent episode of ‘The Kurt Angle Show’, he talked about several things. One of those things included him talking about how WWE ignoring Benoit has deeply affected Angle.

Benoit and Angle have worked together for a good amount of time in WWE. Angle has even praised Benoit for his professionalism on multiple occasions. He considered him one of the best men in the business. So, he doesn’t appreciate WWE trying to hide Benoit’s wrestling achievements in the promotion. In his recent podcast episode, he gave his opinion on the same.

“Five of my 10 best matches were with Chris, but obviously they want to keep him under wraps and it’s unfortunate. The thing is, if they erase Chris Benoit’s career, they’re erasing a lot of my career. I understand why they did it, but what about the other wrestlers that competed against Chris? You’re taking those matches away, and you’re just not mentioning the name, Chris Benoit. Anytime we have any videos that surface up on WWE television, you’re never going to see Chris,” said the WWE Hall of Famer.

He mentions how WWE, not talking about Benoit, affects his own work history as well. So, apart from a friend’s perspective, Angle is also concerned about his and his former coworker’s hard work being swept under the rug.

But ‘work’ is not the only thing Angle remembers Benoit by.

Angle remembers Chris Benoit with their bittersweet memories as well. This one time he recalled caring about Benoit but using a choice of words that he didn’t like. As a result, Benoit was furious and asked Kurt Angle to never talk to him like this. Despite the argument, the two friends made up, continuing to work together.

After Benoit’s unfortunate demise, Kurt Angle did not stop talking about him in the media even though WWE was trying to dissociate itself from the wrestler.
