The fans of WWE were left in shock last week, as the promotion released a number of stars from their roster. This included big names such as Dolph Ziggler, Mace and Mansoor, and Matt Riddle. According to WWE, the decision was taken by TKO as a part of budget cuts. But fans have been suspecting something more since this began.

Now a released star from WWE has revealed how WWE bigwig Vince McMahon was related to his firing from WWE.

How did Vince McMahon factor into this star’s firing?

In a recent video posted by Rick Boogs, he revealed some insights about his release. Alongside Ziggler and Riddle, Boogs was also another casualty in the recent WWE releases. In the video, he stated that according to him, backstage political power play was the reason behind his firing. However, he chose not to further clarify what exactly it was. But in the comment section of his video, the recently released star accidentally revealed a major insight.

In the comments section, a lot of fans poured in to sympathize with the star. One fan commented, “This never would’ve happened with Vince at the helm. Very obvious that the WWE has been reinventing their image to please networks/advertisers. They’re removing what they deem “toxic masculinity”. This started a chain reaction of comments from other users. Meanwhile, replying to the fan, Boogs said, “I can say with 100% certainty, the removal of Vince killed my career.” One fan even asked whether he had a conversation with Triple H. However, Boogs did not respond to the comment.

The reply by Boogs has raised many questions about WWE’s management. However, things have changed a lot since the merger and Vince McMahon is not as powerful as he used to be.

Vince McMahon’s role at WWE

While WWE and UFC have merged under their parent company, Endeavor, the two entities will function independently. However, the merger still affected the promotion and McMahon in its functioning. After the merger, Endeavor holds 51% of the controlling stakes of WWE while the promotion itself is left with 49% stakes. This means that Endeavour has more of an authoritative power over WWE than the promotion itself.

Apart from that, McMahon is facing a lack of power as well. After the merger, McMahon holds only 16.4% of the company shares. This is a staggering low compared to the previous 81.1% that he had held. After being a driving force for almost four decades, McMahon’s hold over the WWE empire might be slowly crumbling.
