Paul Heyman is a legendary figure behind the scenes. The advocate for Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns‘ special counsel serves as a mentor to wrestlers as well. Reigns’ TLC opponent Kevin Owens is one such wrestler who goes to Paul for advice. In an interview with Alex McCarthy, Kevin Owens opened up on how Paul Heyman helped him out.
The Paul Heyman effect
Kevin Owens to me on Paul Heyman: "Paul was great at being an ear for me and I think a lot of talent would say that. I don't know how many times I spoke to him at 1, 2, 3AM for an hour about wrestling. What I was doing, about what other people were doing, just about wrestling."

Although he is one of the biggest villains in pro wrestling, one can’t help but wonder how helpful Paul Heyman is. The tag ‘Paul Heyman guy’ has worked wonders for certain wrestlers. Apart from Brock Lesnar and now Roman Reigns, Heyman has mentored guys like Curtis Axel, Ryback, Cesaro, and even CM Punk.
The former longest-reigning WWE Champion also credited Paul Heyman for being the reason he was in WWE. During his infamous pipebomb promo, Punk name-dropped Heyman. Just like Punk and so many others before him, Kevin Owens too thanked Paul Heyman for his role as a mentor to him.
Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns
WWE’s Tribal Chief will take on KO at TLC with the Universal Championship on the line. The match was set after Owens won a match against Jey Uso via disqualification. After the match, KO unloaded chair shots on Uso while calling out the Head of the Table.
In the following weeks, Reigns and Uso played mind games with Owens, but the challenger remained bulletproof to the same. Jey Uso accepted the Universal Title challenge on behalf of the champion, which Reigns had no choice but to accept. On the same night, Reigns and Uso lost by disqualification to KO and Otis.

Reigns addressed his match against Owens at TLC in an interview with Kayla Braxton. KO walked out to the ring and challenged Roman to a fight, but out of respect to Kayla, he refused. ‘The Tribal Chief’ then berated Owens and told him to grow up, but that prompted KO to fire back at Roman and call him a b*tch.

Backstage Roman dealt with KO the way he deals with everything. He sent an intimidating message to Owens’ family and promised to take the food off their tables. KO is sure to retaliate to Reigns’ threat on SmackDown, and their TLC match is guaranteed to be a classic.
