Cena believes that you still have to work hard even if you work your dream job. However, that hard work becomes valuable if you love your job. On the other hand, if you don’t love what you do, you can become intolerant. He even applied this to WWE by confessing, “You know, I tell a lot of young people that are in the WWE, ‘if you’re in this to make money, go somewhere else, this is hard living to make money at. If you love it, the sky is the limit. Stop counting money. Just go out and do it, the money will show up.’”

Although The Prototype has now become a wrestling legend, he was once a struggling star. So much so that WWE revealed to Cena’s face that they were going to fire him. At that point, it didn’t matter whether Cena loved his job or not; he was facing a tough time, regardless. However, while recalling the time, he also exposed WWE for going easy on him.
After the WWE’s management had revealed to Cena that he would need to look for a new workplace, they also offered him compensation for the same. The promotion offered him money upon release. Apart from that, they also offered him more shows worth the time he had left inside the company.
