“Well, first I would like to say to Sol that she definitely gave me the workout,” Kelani Jordan stated after defending her title against Sol Ruca, last night at the NXT Heatwave. Jordan is the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion, and she’s on fire right now.

The match between Jordan and Ruca was massive and fans rated the match 10 out of 10 because of how both wrestlers brought the best out of each other to put on a tremendous in-ring display. No doubt, Jordan stated, “She really challenged me. And also, we’re friends. So, it’s pretty cool to be able to go out there and have a friendly but competitive match.” However, it wasn’t all rosy for the champion, as a gaffe occurred on live TV shortly after the contest.

Kelani Jordan was pinning Sol Ruca at the end of the match, although she appeared to be uncomfortable. It was then discovered that she had a wardrobe malfunction shortly after the match. Perhaps this is why WWE had to black off the screen for a second.

Even when the ref gave her the title, she essentially used it to cover herself so she could pull her top up to conceal the wardrobe malfunction. Nevertheless, she was happy that he could retain her title. “It means everything to me. Not only did I get to do it in front of this amazing crowd, but this was my first title defense on a PLE. And also, just a few days ago on the 4th of July, was my first-ever NXT debut against Taum Paxley. So, I think it’s just so crazy. A full circle moment that I walked into HeatWave a champion and I’m leaving, still a champion,” she stated after the match.

“And it’s just really a feeling that it’s really hard to describe. Because, like I said, in gymnastics, we don’t get our titles or accolades taken away from us. But this can be taken away. So, keeping it is something that I truly can’t explain,” Jordan explained. Now, while the wardrobe malfunction was unfortunate, the WWE NXT star seems to have the world in her palms due to her immense talent and potential.

So far, the reigning NXT Women’s North American Champion has shown to be rather impressive in the ring. Jordan has demonstrated to everyone that she is a fierce competitor, and is capable of defeating any opponent she faces. Furthermore, the fans have responded positively to her performances as she continues to amass fans.

She also has great sportsmanship. After defeating Ruca, she held up her dear friend’s hand in the middle of the ring to show honor and gratitude.

Further, Jordan has continued to add to the prestige of the new women’s mid-card title and that responsibility hasn’t fazed her so far. Even with growing pains, the WWE will be mindful of taking their time to hone the young superstar. Maybe she can become WWE’s next magnificent star if they showcase her effectively in the future. Only time will tell what WWE has in store for her, but until then, the fans will have to wait and see the magic she conjures up.
