One of the several major events that WWE presented this year so far is the draft. It brought a lot of confusion to the table. However, despite the confusion among the audience, WWE decided to pull it off, anyway. Following the brand split, there was a clear-cut distinction between Raw and SmackDown. The wrestling promotion had outlined the fact that the two brands shouldn’t crossover in a weekly episode.

Vince McMahon, however, broke the boundaries WWE had set for its own conduction. Seth Rollins‘ opponent switched brands only to team up with him. This was reportedly McMahon’s decision and a former WWE employee is not happy with it.

AJ Styles showed up during Monday Night Raw last week. For those of you who don’t already know, WWE drafted Styles to SmackDown. Due to the rules laid down by the company about drafting, fans had no expectations of this happening. Not only did he appear on Raw, but he also teamed up with Rollins, his opponent from the Night of Champions. This messed with the idea of WWE Drafting in the minds of the audience, and Jim Cornette even commented on it.

This decision to integrate Styles on Raw was reportedly a last-minute call by Vince McMahon. Until now, it appears to be just a one time decision. However, Cornette couldn’t hold himself back from saying, “ He okay’s the tag team match for later even though AJ is on SmackDown and he can’t be on RAW… and blew up their draft in two weeks.”

Although this didn’t make much sense to WWE fans, it could be the company’s aim for trying to improve Styles’ gimmick. This is something that was supposed to be hidden from fans until the right time.

Styles has been in the business for a long time now. The wrestler has served both as a heel and as a face. However, his current gimmick could somewhat be seen as ‘monotonous’ by some WWE fans. To overcome this, the promotion was trying to take measures.
