Recently, the ex-WWE director David Sahadi spoke to ‘The Insiders’. There he went back the memory lane and brought up the emotional side of WWE CEO Vince McMahon that fans are rarely aware of. Sahadi recalled the moment when he decided to bring something from the classic WWE era into the modern one. Even though McMahon didn’t like the idea at first, it eventually gave him tears of joy.
The former WWE director said that when he combined some nostalgic WWE video packages featuring legendary wrestlers in the modern era, it made the CEO of the company furious.
Sahadi mentioned that Vince McMahon first shouted at him for doing this but when he saw the video, it made him emotional and he left without finishing the video.
Talking about Vince McMahon, David Sahadi said, “Vince finds out and calls Kevin Dunn and says, ‘What the f**k is Sahadi doing with all these old timers up there in Albany, we’re about the new generation right now. Vince comes down to look at it about four days later and he’s as angry as can be … 10 seconds in, Vince is like, ‘Oh god, oh god, oh jeez, oh god,’ and he left before it finished.”
He further said that when he found McMahon, he was sitting on the floor with his eyes wet, thanking him. “Vince was sitting down on the concrete floor just crying hysterically just saying, ‘Thank you’.”
But what could have made Vince McMahon, who is known for his ruthless and cold behavior, melt? Well, the ex-WWE director has the answer for it as well.
What made Vince McMahon emotional?
Later in the interview, David Sahadi revealed that he didn’t know the reason behind Vince McMahon’s outburst at that time. But now, he has an answer to it.
Sahadi said that for Vince, it was a moment of passing the torch from his father to what he did which made him cry with joy.
“I think the reason why — I didn’t know at the time……But not only was it the spot of the passing of the torch from the old generation to the new generation, but I think from a visceral level, Vince probably felt like it was a passing the torch from his father to what Vince did. I think that’s why it resonated with Vince so much and it evoked so much emotion out of him.”
