Just an Obliteration: Seth Rollins Recalls Vince McMahon’s Brutal Bout at WrestleMania 26 While Comparing Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ Payback Match

At Payback 2023, fans will witness one of the most exciting match cards come to life. With Seth Rollins defending his World title against a motivated Shinsuke Nakamura, fans will also finally see Becky Lynch get her hands on Trish Stratus.

Lynch versus Stratus is scheduled to be inside a steel cage, and this has the WWE Universe excited. Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins recently addressed this upcoming bout and spoke his mind on it. The Visionary would directly compare this match to an iconic one from 13 years ago as well.

What did Seth Rollins say about Becky Lynch versus Trish Stratus at Payback 2023?

During the latest podcast episode of After the Bell with Corey Graves, Seth Rollins would speak about a varied lot of topics. However, his insight on Lynch’s upcoming match was something noteworthy. Rollins used his pro wrestling knowledge to compare his wife’s match to a historic clash over a decade ago.

He would directly state a comparison between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ match with Vince McMahon and Bret Hart’s bout from 13 years ago at WrestleMania 26. He said, “You know you can win by escaping the cage. I got a real good feeling that Becky is not interested in getting out of that cage for even 2 seconds. I remember back to Bret The Hitman Hart vs Vince McMahon, Mr.McMahon at WrestleMania, many many many moons ago. And it was just an obliteration of what it was.”

The 37-year-old further said, ” The Hitman worked Mr.McMahon all over that ring far too long. And I fully expect Becky to relish every single second that she’s got in that cage with Trish. She’s gonna tear her apart and then she’s going to pin her in the center of the ring. And finally be done with Trish Stratus and hopefully Zoey Stark as well.” 

Bret Hart and Vince McMahon had a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 26 where The Hitman viciously beat down McMahon in a one-sided affair.

Rollins explained that Lynch has waited a long time to get her hands on Stratus, and now she finally can. Rollins would briefly state that this is the ultimate reason behind creating steel-cage matches so that interferences could not take place. Corey Graves would agree with this statement, and claim, “To settle the score. Not because you want it, because you need it.”

Seth Rollins would end his statements, by asking Stratus to be careful. However, at Payback, Rollins himself has a headache on his mind, and fans wonder if he can come out victorious of that.

Why does Shinsuke Nakamura have the advantage against Seth Rollins at WWE Payback 2023?

A few weeks ago, Nakamura had revealed to Rollins about knowing his secret. Rollins has been suffering from an acute back injury for the past several years, and Nakamura started targeting that. He would also start playing mind games with The Visionary.

At Payback, Rollins is set to face a confident and motivated Nakamura. While, Nakamura knows about Rollins’ secrets, injuries, and vulnerabilities, Rollins has to overcome all of these barriers, to plant Nakamura down for the three count and retain his World Heavyweight title.
