It’s been over a month since Sasha Banks walked out of her $250,000 WWE contract to join NJPW, leaving fans in excited and in disbelief. She has already established herself as a top star in Japan and looks good for the long run there. However, fans have always been curious to know if Mercedes Moné will ever return to WWE or not. To satisfy their inquisitiveness, Miss Mercedes has recently quoted a classic idiom.

Banks didn’t have any active presence in the ring for months after walking out of WWE early last year over creative differences. Fans haven’t seen her performing for a long time. Fortunately, her debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 gave her fans a chance to see her back in ring action. She came out after KAIRI successfully defended her title against Tam Nakano. The CEO challenged KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW Battle At The Valley. Ahead of her monumental match, the star answered the most asked question.

Among the tons of media press Moné was attending, one was by Marc Raimondi of ESPN. During her conversation with him, she was asked to shed light upon her interest in returning to WWE at some point. Most of her fans wanted an answer to that question.

She said, “I guess people like to say ‘never say never.’ You never know in life. I never knew life would take me here, but I always follow my heart so wherever my heart takes me is where I’m going to go.”

The 31-year-old hinted at her possible WWE return by quoting the old pro wrestling adage. However, she also highlighted that it depends on what her heart wants, as she always follows wherever it takes her. She remarked, “That’s why it wasn’t a tough decision for her to sign with NJPW.”

The CEO’s easy decision to join the NJPW

In her appearance on the Under the Ring podcast, The Boss said that “it was just an easy, easy decision” to join NJPW as it is “the biggest pro wrestling company in Japan.”

She continued to further explain her decision. Mone then disclosed that she has always been a massive admirer of Japanese women’s wrestling. And now to be a part of it was a “dream come true” for her. Now, the current scenario must be surreal for her as she is now the current IWGP Women’s Champion after defeating KAIRI at the NJPW event Battle in the Valley.
