WWE Superstar Kevin Owens has been a top tier wrestler for a while now. He entered the main roster when he was at his peak as a performer.

Owens was an NXT Champion when he came over to RAW, to face John Cena’s challenge. He recently sat down with WWE The Bump, and spoke about his dream matchup with NXT talent.

There’s obviously so many talented people in NXT that I’d love to wrestle on that stage. Some of them are my friends, others are guys I’ve seen wrestle and would love to just be in the ring with.

Owens acknowledged the immense amount of talent in the NXT today.

It’s really hard to pinpoint one because there are so many answers. If I were to go with…I would love for Johnny Gargano to show up.

Kevin Owens wants to fight Johnny Gargano

Kevin spoke about a time in 2013, when he was being scouted to be pushed up to the main roster in RAW or Smackdown.

He was fighting Johnny Gargano, who was his pick from NXT. They both reportedly had an intense match, both extremely skilled in their craft.

Owens looked back fondly at the match, reminiscing on how great the bout was, for himself and the fans alike.

We really rocked. We had a great match. It was really enjoyable, the fans loved it, I really loved it, it was my first time wrestling Johnny.

Kevin picked Johnny as the superstar that he would want to battle in the ring. This is not only because Gargano is a talented performer, but also because Kevin and Johnny have excellent chemistry.

If I could choose, Johnny wouldn’t be alone. I would have Malcolm Bivens as his manager. He would deserve to be on a stage like RAW

Kevin Owens is a perfect example of NXT talent making it big in the WWE. He has comfortably transitioned from NXT to being a top tier performer on the main rosters. It is safe to say that Kevin will stay at the top, as long as he is physically able.
