NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano competed in his last match at WWE WarGames. The former NXT Champion was part of Team Black & Gold at WarGames.

Recently, there were rumors regarding Johnny Gargano’s departure. However, they got confirmed, with the contract about to end in December. For the NXT WarGames, he got an extension of one week. Gargano made his debut in 2015.

He was the first-ever NXT Triple Crown Champion. As there were rumors of Gargano’s contract expiration, WWE fans expected he would sign a new contract with the company. However, that’s not the case.

Recently, Johnny Gargano posted a video with a message with his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa. Gargano fans are sad about his departure from the NXT brand. The former NXT Champion has a great fan following and earned a lot of appreciation from the fans.

Also, WWE SmackDown Superstar Cesaro expressed his emotions in Johnny Gargano’s post. In the post, Gargano played Glorious theme to remember the meme back from 2016.

Gargano has competed for a long time on the NXT roster. He is one of the NXT Superstars with great potential. His rivalry with Tomasso Ciampa had a great appreciation. Even wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer gave 5-star ratings for the showdown between Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa.

Johnny confirmed the WarGames main event 2 weeks back. He teamed up with Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne, and LA Knight in an alliance called Black & Gold against Team 2.0.

Last week, Bron Breakker won the advantage for his Team 2.0. The NXT WarGames main event between Team Black & Gold and Team 2.0 started with Johnny Gargano and Carmelo Hayes in the cage. Both men gave a great start when Carmelo Hayes got accompanied by Grayson Waller.

The Wargames continued with each team member entering the WarGames structure. The match had an intense fight between the two teams, leaving no chance to attack each other brutally. In the last moments of the match, Bron Breakker delivered his finisher to pin the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa to grab the win for Team 2.0.
