Yes, Big Match John, Super Cena, the man who irked fans for rarely losing, has a losing streak at the Fastlane PPV. Despite being the one to face all odds and coming out on top, the Fastlane PPV always hindered him. Will Cena face another loss, or will he finally break this unwanted streak at this year’s event?
Cena participated in the first-ever Fastlane event in 2015. The match was for the United States Championship. This was when Cena and Rusev were feuding, and this match could’ve seen Cena bring the title back home. However, Cena did not win the gold, earning his first loss at the event.
The next would be at the 2018 Fastlane, where he was part of a six-pack challenge. Cena, along with Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, and Sami Zayn, challenged AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship title. Unfortunately, Styles walked out with the gold, as luck would have it.
With Fastlane being 2-0 to Cena, fans are unsure of whether he and Knight will win the upcoming match. While the Cenation is hopeful that their leader will finally break his streak, others are looking into a deeper meaning. Many claim Fastlane was specifically selected for the match so that Cena would lose. However, another factor to remember is that Cena has not won in 5 years.
Cena continues to undergo a losing streak for the last 5 years
According to the match stats on Cagematch.net, Cena has not won a live event match since 2018’s Super Showdown in Australia. He teamed with Bobby Lashley against Ownes and Elias in this match. His last one-on-one victory was against Triple H at 2018’s Greatest Royal Rumble event.

All the major live PPV events have seen Cena lose. He lost to The Fiend at WrestleMania 36, Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021, and Austin Theory at WrestleMania this year. Will Cena finally break this streak of bad luck, or will The Bloodline cease the victory? Since this upcoming encounter is a tag-team match, Cena could clinch the victory with LA Knight in his corner. The answer will be unveiled during the Fastlane PLE.
