John Cena Rightly Consoled Cody Rhodes After WrestleMania Heartbreak Against Roman Reigns: “Be Honest to Yourself”

At Money in The Bank 2023, fans witnessed Cody Rhodes win against Dominik Mysterio. Despite several attempts from Rhea Ripley to steal the victory from him, Rhodes was able to secure the win and return home on a high note.

Coming into the match, Cody Rhodes was on a dicey momentum. Having lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and then to Brock Lesnar at Clash of Champions, there was massive pressure on The American Nightmare’s shoulders. However, at the post-match conference, Rhodes would address those, and reveal a piece of advice, that John Cena gave him.

What piece of advice did John Cena pass on to Cody Rhodes?

Speaking at the post-match conference, Rhodes would speak about his WrestleMania loss against Roman Reigns. And, how John Cena’s advice helped him overcome that phase, and move on. Rhodes claimed that Cena asked him to be honest with himself and look at the numbers.

Rhodes said, “eWe had a very specific behind the scenes, and on the camera. The thing that I want, the thing that I came back to get. And one of the things, man we were just talking about this guy, John Cena told me. He said, ‘You could be the champ, without wearing the title.”

He further stated, “‘But you have to be honest with yourself. Look at the numbers everywhere you go. Look at the numbers on everything that you put out. And if they are telling you that it’s cruising, and its going. If those numbers support that, you’re on the right path’.”

The American Nightmare then claimed that, fortunately, he has been on the right path. After Money in The Bank, Rhodes would be looking ahead for SummerSlam, and fans feel he would go after either Seth Rollins or Brock Lesnar.

Is Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar III happening at SummerSlam 2023?

The WWE Universe expected Brock Lesnar to appear at Money in The Bank PLE, which he did not. Thus, moving ahead, fans are now confused about Rhodes’ future feuds, and if he would be going against Brock Lesnar in Detroit.

A proposed bull-rope match was in the plans between the two. However, there have been no signs of the feud progressing, Fans are now expecting Lesnar to appear on Monday Night RAW, and rekindle his heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes.
