WWE held the Money in the Bank event tonight at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. The show has had interesting appearances and surprises. However, what topped all was the sudden appearance of John Cena. The sixteen-time WWE World Champion was introduced to the ring by yet another legend, Trish Stratus, as she became the guest host of the show. Cena, although later, stole all the headlines with a major announcement. As he revealed that 2025 will be his last year as an active wrestler.
Specifically, WrestleMania 41 being his last. He further revealed that he will be a part of the premiere of Raw on Netflix and that he intends to compete in the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber. Moreover, he talked about how he would be part of the post-show press conference, and as he graced the seat in front of the media, he felt like renewing his iconic feud with CM Punk.
It’s no secret to anyone that the rivalry between CM Punk and John Cena defined WWE’s dominance as a top show between 2011 and 2013. Both superstars starred in multiple matches when they were active full-time, with several of them becoming classics for the company’s fans. Outside the ring, both professional wrestlers have not denied their enormous respect for each other after sharing moments in front of and behind the cameras. In the post-event media scrum, John Cena stole the show with his wit and sincerity as he faced the media. During the interview, he mentioned that Punk and Triple H would be mad at him for taking over the post-event media show. As it is usually Punk who is known for being the media’s favorite, while HHH is all about time management. Cena said, “Damn, Paul’s gonna be mad, so is Punk. He’s gonna be pissed.” But knowing that Cena played a major part in Punk becoming the voice of the voiceless, thanks to the legendary pipebomb against the leader of the Cenation, we can be rest assured that Punk is not going to mind Cena stealing the spotlight.
