Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 41—Is this the ultimate retirement match we all need?

The day that John Cena‘s fans will dread the most is approaching fast. He is undoubtedly one of the athletes who prepared the current generation of wrestling fans with his skills, talent, and hard work. However, all good things come to an end. At Money in the Bank, he showed up to announce his retirement and gave a final deadline.

Although some of his former co-stars are still active in the wrestling universe, Cena believes the best time to retire is now. He revealed where his final match will take place and when asked whether Dwayne Johnson will be his last opponent; he had a practical reply.

The two rivals wrestled against each other at WrestleMania 29 in 2013 for the WWE Championship where Cena ended up defeating the half-Samoan wrestler. They crossed paths a few times before standing face-to-face again during the main event of WrestleMania XL. Talking about the possibility of a rematch, Cena said during the post-show conference at MITB, “There’s always unfinished business in WWE which probably makes this announcement extremely surprising.” The WWE legend also added, “I am in no position to handpick opponents. I’ve always had a wonderful time challenging myself, telling stories with whatever hand I was dealt.

According to the wrestler, the final match of his career is going to be at WrestleMania 41 in 2025. Till then, WWE may give him a storyline to develop his feud with someone one last time. There have been various names whom Cena could wrestle before finally retiring for good.

The “Final Boss” is one of the possible rivals that Cena could end up facing. Although their storyline has already wrapped up, Cena confessed during the post-show media conference that there is always unfinished business in the pro wrestling universe. So, it may be a hint at the fact that we could see The Brahma Bull facing his former foe again at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. If not him, he has other past rivals to tend to, like Randy Orton.

Most of the fans would probably love to see The Viper and John Cena going at it again in the ring before the latter retires forever. Apart from these couple of names, there are some other stars as well who are trying to jump the ship and wrestle against The Cenation Leader. There are many challenges that the Hollywood superstar has to overcome before hanging up his boots. So, even though time will fly by quickly, we will still get to see the legend in action enough to put a good end to his legendary run.
