Months after the passing of his former foe, Cena recalls their matches and recounts the incredible time he had working with the 36-year-old star.

24 August 2023 was a dark day for the WWE Universe as Bray Wyatt passed away. The beloved 36-year-old left a hole in the business and the hearts of his fans. After almost three months, Cena, who faced Wyatt several times, breaks his silence about The Feind. These are the heart-touching words of Cena as he recalls one of his best foes.

On the episode of John Cena breaks down legendary matches by the WWE, Cena recounted some of his most memorable matches in the WWE. Among these were some with Wyatt. While discussing it, Cena said, “I really enjoyed performing with Bray.” After his passing, many stars claimed that Wyatt was the best wrestler they had the privilege to work with.

Cena continued, “We were cut from the same cloth in that regard, both storytellers and both wanting to do bizarre things.” This line was in regard to the Firefly Funhouse match the two had at WrestleMania 36. This was the most unique match ever to grace the biggest night of WWE.

While recounting the events of the matches he had with Wyatt, Cena concluded, “Those are ideas that come from a unique individual.” The entire WWE Universe mourned in unison after the passing of Wyatt. He was credited as someone who brought back mysticism to the WWE, the likes of which were not seen since The Undertaker. Wyatt was so unique that he left an indelible mark on the WWE.

The impact of Wyatt on the WWE

Even today, his memory is being honored in the WWE. Whether it is LA Knight using his iconic line or Seth Rollins replicating the way he pins his opponents. There are small gestures that WWE wrestlers do to honor Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt’s impact traveled to WWE’s competition. Despite not being part of their roster, Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart paid homage to the deceased star after his passing.
