John Cena has found outstanding success in Hollywood, further enhancing his reputation as a global star. He has come into his own on the big screen earning plaudits for his acting chops. His growing stature saw him land a major in the fit franchise Fast & Furious in 2021. The former WWE Champion played the role of an antagonist and a younger brother to Hollywood actor, Vin Diesel‘s character, in the latest installment of the movie series.

In many ways, F9 could be considered Cena’s breakthrough in a big-budget hit franchise. Moreover, sharing a screen with a massive Hollywood star like Vin Diesel was ideal for Cena’s career.

Last year, John Cena appeared in a Q&A session and answered who would win a fight between him and Vin Diesel.

John Cena’s Hollywood career got a major lift when he signed up for Fast & Furious. With quite a few big Hollywood names already part of the franchise, it was a perfect move for the Doctor of Thuganomics. Since then, he has been a part of another major film series. He joined DC’s Suicide Squad’ as the violent anti-hero Peacemaker in 2021.

But F9 was his first major success in Hollywood’s top ranks, starring alongside big names such as Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron. In the movie, Cena played the role of Jakob Toretto, the younger brother of Diesel’s Dominic Toretto.

In 2021, Cena made an appearance in a Q&A session with the fans on LADBible TV and answered a few interesting questions about his WWE rival, The Rock. One of the questions was who he thought would win a fight between him and Vin Diesel.

‘The Franchise Player’ said although he has been in many fights in WWE, it is a different thing altogether. He replied, “You could see who would win in a fight, Dom or Jakob Toretto, in the upcoming film Fast 9. But in a realistic scenario, Vin’s wise beyond his years. And I’ll take wisdom and experience any day.”

Moreover, he added, “I’ve had my share of matches, but they’re WWE matches. There are rules and stuff. I’d give it to Vin on this one.”

As always, Cena showed his humbled and respectful nature here as well. Despite being a WWE veteran and a competitive bodybuilder, he gave the edge to the Hollywood star in a fight. Although we may not get a Cena vs Diesel match in WWE anytime soon, but we did to get to see a confrontation between the two in F9.

The pairing was a successful one in the movie F9. The fans of both stars will hope to see them act together one more time. Recently, Cena also landed a role alongside hisSuicide Squad co-star Idris Elba in an action comedy titled “Heads of State“.

John Cena is growing his Hollywood filmography with a number of hit and popular movies. The 16-time World Champion continues to emulate his in-ring success on the big screen.
