John Cena has announced his retirement, which means that after his legendary wrestling run, we can expect him to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. It’s not confirmed which batch he will be inducted with, but the speculations as to who might induct him have already begun and there are many possibilities. The Cenation Leader has had a long lineup of foes and friends in the Stamford-based company and it would be difficult to determine who gets to induct him into the Hall of Fame whenever he gets his chance. But Chris Van Vliet has chipped in his idea.
All things must come to an end, whether good or bad, and so is the time that John Cena gave to his wrestling fans for so many years. An official announcement by WWE stated, “John Cena announces retirement from in-ring competition, stating that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be his last.” On the latest episode of his podcast, CVV tried to guess the personality who will make the multi-time WWE Champion a Hall of Famer.
While guessing, the host of ‘Insight’ said, “I think a smarter choice, at least right now, as we sit here, feels like Triple H. Triple H is in that Vince McMahon position as a kind of the face of the corporate side of the company. And of course, in the ring, John Cena and Triple H have quite a history together, including their match at WrestleMania 22 and the three-way match at WrestleMania 24 with Orton also thrown in there.”

The industry insider believes that if Vince McMahon was still in the picture, he is sure that he would have inducted John Cena for being a top talent in the company for so many years. But Triple H is pretty much seen in his position now, so it would make sense if he is the inductor. However, there is one more contestant for this ceremony who may also become the WWE legend’s last opponent.

Will John Cena end his career facing a former foe?
John Cena and Dwayne Johnson had an elaborate rivalry in WWE. Both stars have faced each other multiple times in the ring. When The Rock returned to the Stamford-based company in 2023, Cena welcomed him back. However, the WrestleMania 40 main event saw them face-to-face once again for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. However, that face-off didn’t start a feud between the two because of their unavailability and busy schedules.
During the post-show media coverage at MITB this year, Cena was asked about the possibility of facing DJ one last time. The Hollywood superstar had a practical reply for the reporter and the rest of the fanbase. According to him, he doesn’t have much control over which opponents he should or should not pick for a match.

So, he does not bother thinking about who he wishes to face, but he also stated that the world of pro wrestling is full of opportunities and a door is always open. This means that even though he is not aware of what the future holds for him, John Cena cannot deny that he won’t be facing the “Final Boss” at WrestleMania 41 for his retirement match.
So, it would also make sense if The Rock inducts him into the Hall of Fame. But if this storyline wouldn’t be possible, Triple H’s involvement in the ceremony wouldn’t be a bad idea either. What are your thoughts about the same? Let us know in the comments below.
