After months of impasse, Hollywood will finally get back to work as The Writers Guild of America, one of the union protesting, finally managed to agree to a tentative deal with studios. This will see thousands of people getting back to work. While this may be promising news to those concerned and involved, it’s likely to disappoint a lot of WWE faithful.

One of the effects the Hollywood strike brought with it for the WWE Universe was John Cena’s time in the promotion. Now, he has resorted to his unique way to tease his return to the world of Hollywood

John Cena said nothing! As is the norm for his Instagram posts, Cena left it to the imagination of his nearly 20 million followers. The WWE icon doesn’t use any caption on his posts as he believes it acts as a hindrance to people’s interpretation.

This time, he shared a picture of the iconic Hollywood Sign, a landmark located in the eponymous region of Los Angeles, California. The photo, however, was taken from the back of the sign with the night sky as the backdrop.

This has raised fear in the minds of a section of his fans. They believe Cena will bid adieu to WWE and resume his acting career, which had taken a break as the Writers Guild of America strike came into effect in early April.

This year alone, the 46-year-old has had over four movie releases, including Fast X and the box-office juggernaut Barbie. While his acting career reached a new high in 2023, Cena also managed to maintain a good run in the WWE, with a surprise cameo at Money In The Bank in London, the UK in the month of July.

While he didn’t compete in a match at the PLE, the former WWE Champion is scheduled to take part in a handicap match against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Fastlane, which will take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 7.

Meanwhile, Cena’s post also left many in doubt about his possible partner at Fastlane.

John Cena’s Instagram post invites speculation

One of the features of an open-ended post is that you have the scope to speculate. This was the case with John Cena’s Instagram update.

The photo made many believe that Cena was actually hinting at LA Knight, who was supposed to be his partner on one of the recent episodes of SmackDown but has been out of action due to a health concern recently. Cena and Knight had a wholesome moment at WWE Payback, where the senior pro acknowledged Knight after his match against The Miz, which he officiated.

Many fans argued that Cena conveyed the message as he purposely chose to use the picture of the sign with the night sky as the backdrop. Fans deduced it by using the location- LA- and the backdrop- (k)night.

Unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing for sure. Cena has given his shoutout to his peers on Instagram in the past and this could be one such. Or is it? The alternate interpretation won’t make WWE fans happy at least.
