Joe Hendry has been a recurring face on NXT lately. Thanks to the good relationships between WWE and TNA, fans of the leading wrestling promotion get to see the viral Scottish wrestler on the developmental brand often. The wrestler has attempted to successfully capitalize on the fleeting internet fame that he has received. Recently, he pulled off something that he hadn’t achieved in his wrestling career.
Joe Hendry had a concert in the middle of NXT on 07/30. While some were excited to see him after a long wait, a part of the internet wrestling community wasn’t into the moment. Instead, those who didn’t like the concert were busy reminiscing about the time when Elias had pulled off something similar.
The former WWE star held more than one concert in WWE. His singing act gained popularity due to the sheer number of times someone interrupted it, breaking the flow. Even though Hendry didn’t find himself facing such misfortune, fans conveyed their desire to see Elias again.

Hendry may not be happy seeing some of these responses because he seemed to be putting his back into it. He even distributed surprise flyers for the show a week ago. Given how much he values fans’ reviews, the British sensation may not be prepared for what’s about to come.
Soon after the concert on NXT, fans gathered on the internet to call out Joe Hendry and his concert only to compare it to that of Elias’.

Nostalgic fans discard Joe Hendry’s concert as they reminisce about Elias
Nostalgia often makes us remember things for the better, instead of taking it realistic. Although Elias’ concerts surely had a unique aura, it could be stopping some fans from enjoying the gift in the present. A fan uploaded the two pictures side by side showing Elias in one image and Joe Hendry in the other. The caption of the post says it all, as they believe that the TNA Impact wrestler doesn’t come anywhere close to Ezekiel’s older brother.

Another soul can be seen wandering in the nostalgia land, missing Elias at this moment when Joe Hendry presents a concert. One simple reason that they stated was that they liked the musician even when he was a part of the Stamford-based company.
Damn.. I miss Elias. I liked Elias lol https://t.co/Bqnvp5MuZE

Someone commented how they think that the fans ‘needed’ to see the ‘original’ concert star return to his home and entertain the fans. How it could have worked out was later explained by someone else who added to the point.
Like forreal we needed Elias during that segment https://t.co/nSoEr7mHEp

One more X user agreed with this pick. They added to the last reaction by claiming that Elias could have had a good redemption arc by interrupting Joe Hendry this time instead of being interrupted. It would have been a mix of several emotions and the fans would have gotten to see both stars instead of just one.
This is a no brainer. I was actually hoping Elias could get some redemption and actually interrupt tonight instead of being interrupted. Nobody does a concert like Elias.

At last, we have one more fan agreeing to this ‘hot take’, as some would consider. Even though the emotions of the fanbase seem heightened after this tweet, there may still be plenty of viewers who would have enjoyed Joe Hendry’s performance on NXT as well.
Wait wait wait, he's actually right 😳
