Jinder Mahal marked himself as a free agent in a shock tweet tonight after a tumultuous recent WWE stint. Although the former WWE Champion claimed he quit his job in the Stamford-based company, that was half true. Reports confirmed that it was not him, but rather the company high-ups who decided to let him go after a lackluster run in the recent past. Now, it begs an obvious question: What’s next for the Modern Day Maharaja? While there is still no official word on that, a wrestling visionary sees a plan.

Jinder Mahal’s potential post-WWE-plan decoded

Jinder Mahal had a noteworthy run under the WWE banner a few years back when he had a stint as a champion after a jaw-dropping title victory against Randy Orton. After some years of inactivity, the 37-year-old went back into the spotlight when he took part in a storyline with the Great One. But destiny had something else written for him. Amidst a random allegation of injuring Seth Rollins in a match, Mahal lost his spot at Royal Rumble 2024. Now, finally, WWE fired him and made him free to explore his career outside of the company sphere. While speculation already started to emerge about a potential AEW run, as per Fightful’s analytical prediction, it’s not what’s coming to Mahal next. Rather, high-flying indie runs seem more viable.

”I think Zinder Mahal could actually get a good Indie run if he chooses to do that like I could. Absolutely. With Matt Cardona out I could see Jinder Mahal popping up in GCW and being that you are not one of us, you are not like a guy-type run and they just did a Punjabi prison match, I mean I’ll use air quotes with that, it was very technically a Punjabi prison but Bollywood boys are out there getting bookings I am sure they would love to work with him again’ as well, he’s got a lot of friends in the industry he’s well-liked and wouldn’t shock me to see him make some TNA appearances and I don’t particularly see AEW as a destination for him as they will try to scale back a lot undefined talents” a Fightful agent justified the prophecy.

While we don’t know about the indie run, the non-AEW prediction seems to be on point as Khan posted a derogatory tweet about Mahal a month back. Tony Khan seemingly doesn’t hold a good thought about the former WWE Champion.

Tony Khan doesn’t hold Jinder Mahal in good regard at all

Last month, AEW owner Tony Khan defended FTW Champion HOOK with a derogatory comparison with Mahal. Khan claimed there was a “double standard” in how netizens reacted to Hook and Mahal, earning their respective world title shots. He dubbed Hook as a more deserving champion contender than Mahal.

”A double standard:[Hook] 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage

Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage.” Khan wrote.
