WWE did the unthinkable yesterday when several superstars were let go from the promotion. While SmackDown aired, WWE released several names, including former WWE champion Jinder Mahal made the rounds.
Names such as Veer Mahan, Sanga, Xia Li, and a few others departed the WWE. While the other names were some of the under-used talents on the roster, Jinder Mahal’s release came as extremely shocking. Mahal is a former World Champion and was a part of an extremely entertaining segment with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson earlier this year. However, within one day of his release, he found support from several talents.

Layoffs are extremely disappointing, and an unexpected and immediate contract release is very disheartening. Despite being one of the top names on the roster a few years ago, Mahal fell down the ranks as he lingered around the mid-card scene. Released a few years ago, and then again hired back, Mahal would form the Indus Sher in NXT with Veer Mahan and Sanga. While there have been no current updates regarding the reasons behind all of their release, friends and current WWE superstars have been vocal about this. Mahal recently found support from his 3MB partner, Drew McIntyre. McIntyre took to his X profile and said, “We showed them once. Now show them again, brother.”

After their forgetful run as 3MB with Heath Slater, the WWE would release both McIntyre and Mahal. However, both stalwarts would work on their game and physique, and return to WWE as main-event stars. The second phase of their WWE career saw both of them clinching World title glory for a sustained push. However, while McIntyre maintained his upper-card status, the Modern Day Maharaja languished in the roster without direction, before being completely written off television.
Jinder Mahal has found support from his fellow Canadians Chelsea Green and Natalya as well. While his future remains shrouded in ambiguity, and the reason for his firing is still unclear, fans might have found a hint toward what may have been the catalyst behind the releases.

Soon after, Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahan, and Sanga were let go of their services. The duo decided to speak out about their releases. Taking to their X profile, Sanga dropped a video in his native language, explaining how despite craving viewership and numbers from India, WWE had failed to properly build and elevate an Indian superstar.
We are all always positive, and we expect everyone to be super positive🙏😊

Veer Mahan would post something similar as well, claiming how they would always choose to sacrifice something. While the real reason is not yet out, fans continue to speculate this as a major basis behind their release.
