Jey Uso, known for being part of the legendary duo The Usos alongside his brother Jimmy Uso, has experienced a major rise in his WWE singles career in recent times. In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, the Main Event made it clear that while he has a great deal of love and appreciation for his time in the tag team division, his focus is now on cementing his legacy as a solo competitor.
Since starting his solo career, he has been a key player in WWE’s major storylines. Especially in the narrative involving The Bloodline and his family. Uso’s performance and success in major events have proven his ability to shine as an individual wrestler. Earning him the respect and admiration of the audience. Now, it seems like his as well as his rival Solo Sikoa‘s fans have another new reason to love the former Tag Team champion before he finally returns after his long absence.
In a recent interview, he revealed how he guided Solo Sikoa through life and to finish college first before jumping into pro wrestling. Sikoa, who is now one of the biggest heels in the WWE, was eager to follow the path of his family and join the pro wrestling world; however, the Usos made him finish college first. Speaking to The Ringer, Jey Uso said, “From a real perspective, I’m so happy for him man. It brings joy to see him out there on SmackDown because I know this story and what it took for him to get there. He did put in work. Solo has a degree in college, he’s the smartest one out of all of us. He just wanted to wrestle. The rule was, me and my brother told him, we’ll get you in but you need to finish school first.”

He continued, “Finish school and he’s like, I want to go. I want to Orlando, I want to go to NXT. To see him now in the position today man, he’s killing it. I tell him, you’re shining right now Uce. Man, keep it up. Doesn’t it bring a boss look to it? It’s tribal chief but it’s his own way, his own style.” So it looks like the babyface is actually a good family man in real life too.

But his fans and family are surely disappointed with the WWE for not booking Uso for major main-event fights. Even his father, Rikishi, is furious at the WWE creatives for not booking him right. He even accused the WWE of trying to jeopardize Uso’s marriage by booking a love angle between him and ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley. After these major accusations were made, Jey Uso had no option but to come out and defend the Stamford-based promotion.

Rikishi has harshly criticized WWE in recent weeks for the creative direction that the company is currently taking with Jey Uso. His anger was accentuated when Jey Uso did not win the Money in the Bank briefcase a few weeks ago. He was the favorite in the betting, but the prize ended up going to Drew McIntyre. The second time, the veteran wrestler made reference to the storyline between Rhea Ripley and Jey Uso. Ripley has been playing with Jey Uso on social media in recent weeks. Even Uso has used WWE cameras to send hints to the wrestler.
According to Rikishi, the story led nowhere and even jeopardized the marriage of his son. As Uso is married to Takessia Travis. One of his podcasts was even deleted, maybe by the order of his son, Jey Uso himself. Speaking to The Ringer, Jey Uso revealed that he spoke with his father, Rikishi, to make him see that his WWE career is on the right track, despite the stories he sees on Raw and can’t understand. “He just said what he said about my creative. I’m like, ‘Dad. Just watch the show. Let me work. Let me go out and work. Enjoy the show. Make your rap track.’ That’s pops, though. Shoutout to my dad.” Well, hopefully the WWE finally books him right and gives him the main event match that fans dearly want. What do you think? Is the WWE misusing their creative control?
