2022 is going to get exciting for John Cena as ‘Peacemaker’ is going to release soon. ‘Peacemaker’ is a television series that is created by James Gunn and will see John Cena in the lead role. Previously, the duo worked together in ‘The Suicide Squad’ where the former WWE champion starred as ‘Peacemaker’ under the direction of Gunn.

Recently, in an interview with SUPES, James Gunn got asked about what made him continue the Peacemaker story following ‘The Suicide Squad’.

Addressing this question, Gunn said, “I think number one, I really got along with John Cena. We became really good friends. He’s a funny guy, and I thought it would be fun to continue working with him.”

Further, Gunn stated he believed that there remained a lot to explore with the ‘Peacemaker’ character. He added, “John and I had talked about a lot where the character came from, who he was, who his father was, and all of these things that we didn’t really get to see in the movie.”

For all Cena fans, this will really be exciting as it will help him showcase his acting skills and get more time in the spotlight in Hollywood. His rise as an actor has mirrored his rise in the professional wrestling world.

John Cena, who returned at Money In The Bank 2021, has not appeared in WWE for over four months. His last appearance in WWE came at WWE SummerSlam 2021, where he lost a WWE Universal Championship match to Roman Reigns.

Though Cena has been busy doing films and television series, he never missed the WrestleMania PPV in his career before missing WrestleMania 37. As he would be keen to not miss back-to-back shows, there always remains a possibility that the WWE Universe might see Cena back in WWE at WrestleMania 38 in some fashion.
