Jacob Fatu over Solo Sikoa—Is WWE making the right call for the future of the Bloodline?

A few days ago, on the June 21 episode of SmackDown, Solo Sikoa was cornered by Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes after a brief match against the latter. To save the new leader of the Bloodline, there was a new face in WWE, Jacob Fatu! Fatu, who has been in the Indies for years, took the opportunity to showcase the fact that he had amazing skills. Moreover, he showed exactly why the WWE has been interested in him for a while.

And with this assault, Cody Rhodes is once again engaged in a feud with the Bloodline. Despite attempts to hold off Fatu, the undisputed WWE champion was unable to resist and was knocked down with a splash performed on the commentary table. And now, the American Nightmare will have to work harder than ever to fend off the Bloodline. But one thing is for sure: the debut has established the former MLW champion as one of the most formidable opponents to go against. In fact, he might’ve already taken over as the biggest name in Bloodline 2.0.

Even replacing the current Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa, as the new face of the group. One that is creating more hype than the enforcer, according to renowned pro wrestling journalists. In fact, Fatu might’ve earned a fight with none other than the American Nightmare due to his ever-growing popularity. In the latest edition of the F4W podcast, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the latest edition of the Blue Brand and all things wrestling. One of the biggest buzz creators in recent weeks was Jacob Fatu. The former MLW star took the WWE by storm with his brute strength and athleticism. And if we add his crazy looks to the mix, you get a recipe to create another legend such as Umaga.

The journalists claimed that Fatu had already become a bigger draw than Sikoa. And the Samoan Werewolf would be a much better fit to face Cody Rhodes in the feud with the Bloodline. In fact, the WWE might even book a match between the two. They said, “Jacob Fatu vs. Cody is such a bigger match than Cody and Solo. It’s so much bigger. But you don’t, but it’s too early to do it. The other ones it’s time for the it’s time for Cody and Solo. Jacob Fatu and Cody should be way down the line it’s way too early to do that match.”

Nevertheless, it looks like the WWE’s fears involving Fatu have come true as the former MLW World Heavyweight champion continues to make a name for himself.

WWE’s fears over Jacob Fatu eclipsing Solo Sikoa’s stature look likely to come true

This was something already feared by the promotion. Even before the Samoan Werewolf made his debut, there were rumors that the WWE was afraid that he would take over Sikao in terms of popularity. According to sources, the aggressive streak of Sikoa in the past few weeks was to set him up as the primary force of the group ahead of Fatu’s debut. However, many still believed that Jacob Fatu would overshadow the Tribal Heir. Which indeed did happen.

However, with Paul Heyman out of the picture, Sikoa can go berserk with no one to stop him from creating rampages. And that sheer brutality could turn the tide and set him up as the real monster of Bloodline 2.0. But for that, the WWE needs to make sure that he gets to win matches (something that he could not pull off), and Sikoa also needs to win matches against top stars without outside help to establish himself. That should be the key to bringing him the fame he deserves. What do you think? Will the WWE implement these strategies? Let us know in the comments.
