In 2023, fans saw a different side to Cody Rhodes as they got a chance to experience his life up, close and personal through the Peacock documentary, American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes. The 2-hour long movie gave fans a glimpse into his life, his career, and his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. As fans are familiar, the movie is incomplete and the chant “finish your story” fits perfectly in this scenario. While the audience has been asking for more, The American Nightmare himself has answered whether the fans will get to see a part 2 or not.

Update on American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes

In an interview with Uproxx, the two-time Royal Rumble winner shared with his fans whether there will be a part 2 of the documentary or not. And just like fans, it looks like he wants to see it as well. He stated, “I’d like to see Part 2 of the documentary. I have expressed that to Nick Khan.” However, he further added that the second part happening might be a 50-50 percent chance. He said, “I know he’s got big documentaries and other stuff on the table that are happening, especially with the Netflix deal and all that.”

WWE has signed a $5 billion deal in January with Netflix which will bring the red brand of WWE, that is the Raw to the streaming giant. The deal is a 10-year-long agreement between the two parties and is set to begin on January 1, 2025. With this deal, the chances of WWE working on other documentaries and docuseries are high. Thus, he believes that the second part of his documentary might get pushed.

However, just like his fans, Rhodes is eager for part 2. He said, “I’d like to see a Part 2 only because of how sour the finish of Part 1 is. It’s real life. It is what it is. But I’d like people to know that if they believed, hopefully, it was for a good reason.” Towards the end of the documentary, fans saw Rhodes stating that he would be carrying his father’s legacy on his shoulders.

While the championship belt is still nowhere to be seen, Rhodes has been presented with two options this time.

When the dust at the 2024 Royal Rumble settled, fans saw Cody Rhodes emerging as the champion, standing tall in the ring and pointing at his opponent, Roman Reigns. While many thought his next move would be to challenge Roman Reigns at the WrestleMania 40, things have taken a short detour.
