After taking part in WWE’s first-ever no-makeup photo shoot, Ripley sat down for a candid conversation with other WWE superstars in March 2020. During the chat, she talked about the toxic side of social media. She also revealed how it made her feel depressed in the past.

She said, “I have done a lot of bad things in the past, being like depressed. I’ve cut myself over all this stuff. And it’s just social media is just so venomous. You shouldn’t really care what people say about you. Because we are all beautiful in our own way.”

She revealed people trolled her for her masculine physique. It went so far as to make her resort to physical harm to numb her emotional pain. She then emphasized to her fans not to make the mistakes she had made in the past

Giving a piece of great advice to her fans – who have or may become subject to body shaming on social media – she told them not to overthink it. She asked her fans to surround themselves with positive and uplifting people to deal with such situations.

Despite her on-screen persona as a heel, Ripley hates bullies. Therefore, taking shots at the trolls and haters on the internet, she said that the only reason a person body shames another person is when they are not comfortable in their own body. They try to take other people down just to feel good about themselves. Which is definitely a good way to look at it, especially when you’re a star getting endless hate for being yourself.
