Vince McMahon left an indelible mark on the world of pro wrestling. His retirement from WWE shocked a lot of people, as many assumed that he won’t give up office until his final breath. A WWE legend recently shared his opinion on McMahon’s retirement and his legacy in pro wrestling.

Vince McMahon’s vision turned pro wrestling from a sideshow to a major attraction in the world of sports entertainment.

Jim Ross, the legendary commentator who worked for McMahon for a long time, shared his thoughts on his former boss’ retirement and the impact he had on pro wrestling.

JR hailed Vince McMahon and his vision

Jim was part of a panel at a fundraiser for ALS afflicted former NFL and WCW legend Steve McMichael. AEW commentator shared his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s retirement during the fundraiser.

JR said, “He will never be replaced, he will always be at top of the mountain. Look what he built, and he built it from s**t you know. Those little arenas, smokey this and having to deal with the commissions and all that stuff. He’s an amazing human being.”

He continued, “It’s Vince McMahon’s world. Look at pro wrestling. We can denigrate anybody that we choose to. But the issue is that McMahon’s legacy in his image will never be replicated. Period.”

JR further added that Vince McMahon is the most powerful man pro wrestling will ever know, declaring, “He’s the most powerful man that this business has ever known he’s the most powerful man this business will ever know and those of you that don’t like this because of a finish or an angle or you need to get a break get over it.

Ric Flair who was also on the panel and hailed McMahon’s impact on pro wrestling. He praised him for his vision and said he believed while Stephanie and Triple H will do a good job, it will always be Vince McMahon’s company.

Jim Ross’ WWE career

Jim Ross, often termed as the greatest commentator of all time, first signed with WWE in 1993 but departed a year later. He came back to the company in December 1994.

Ross would remain the mainstay of WWE’s commentary for the next 19 years. During this time, he was appointed as Senior Vice President of Talent Relations.

He was responsible for some of the greatest signings in the company’s history. JR got talents like Brock Lesnar, Batista, Randy Orton, John Cena, and The Rock to sign for WWE.
