WWE is constantly trying to improve its ratings and viewership. Keeping this goal in mind, the company introduced an MMA style wrestling segment known as WWE RAW Underground. However, Ryback is of the opinion that RAW Underground will impact pro-wrestling negatively.

Ryback reveals his opinions about RAW Underground

Ryback believes that while he appreciates the efforts, it’s not an ideal segment given the impact it can have on pro-wrestling. It’s almost as if WWE RAW Underground is reminding viewers that pro-wrestling is nothing short of being fake.

“You’re reminding people that they are watching fake phony wrestling and I think that’s a horrible thing to do. It’s like you’re watching a movie and then you stop the movie and tell people they’re watching a movie. Even if RAW Underground was a shoot, I think it’s the worst thing you could do on your programming for pro wrestling. Especially kids and people you are telling them, you look at this they are out there ‘why are those punches hurting and they’re stopping it but then they are throwing these punches out in the ring.”

He feels that the segment is reminding audience that the punches in the ring are not real. On top of that, playing WWE RAW Underground as a part of WWE RAW to bring one talent to the main roster is not going to pan out well.

Ryback goes on to point out that the Superstars are behaving differently in the arenas as well.

“Why isn’t Dolph like that in the ring?

Ryback believes that RAW Underground comes with more negatives than positives. So, while it may drum up ratings and viewership, reminding the audience about pro-wrestling’s reality is not ideal.

“Even if they did have a guy in mind that is going to be the star of RAW Underground, I mean it’s reminding everyone the whole time, I don’t know. We’ll see. They want to build new stars, I just don;t know. Shane’s back, it’s great.”
