And now, in the movies, The Peacemaker actor is doing the same thing. Except here, he is having to portray different roles. During an interview with Sam Roberts of Notsam Wrestling, Cena cited the similarity between working in a film and a Royal Rumble match. According to him, the wait for your turn in the Royal Rumble match evokes the same thoughts as when you wait for the release of your movie.

However, when it comes to movies, the waiting period is longer. Cena stated that when a contestant waits for his entry in the Royal Rumble match, they hope to make an impact and become memorable. And the same goes for the movies.

He said, “You go to the Royal Rumble and maybe you’re number 16 and you have to wait 30 minutes and that 30 minutes feels like a year and you’re just like ‘Man, when the music plays I hope they remember me’. And now it’s the same thing, just the wait is physically a year, it doesn’t feel like a year, it is. And it’s fun when audiences around the world enjoy.”

Furthermore, the wrestler-turned-actor then highlighted the differences in nuances of both fields. While Cena admitted that he can’t be as animated in movies as in WWE, he emphasized that the possibility exists to get more expressive in movies.

He added, “Sometimes you can be big and you can be animated but it’s the same thing we’re trying to entertain the world. We’re trying to let them in on our story and hopefully, you craft a character that they connect with yeah like that’s, it’s the same”

John Cena was recently seen reprising the role of Jakob Torreto in the Vin Diesel starrer, Fast X. His upcoming action film with Jackie Chan, Hidden Strike, is also set to be released soon.
