A lot of revelations were made about the Phenom in his documentary ‘The Last Ride’. The Undertaker has had a career that most wrestlers can only dream of.

He was recently in an interview with Comicbook.com, where he talked about his documentary among many other things.

In the interview, Taker was asked his views on whether wrestlers should go back to protecting their characters or if it isn’t possible anymore.

Taker responded by saying he’s discussed the same with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as well as Triple H and Shawn Michaels, in-depth. He mentions how it’s hard for him to see Superstars portraying a gimmick on stage and totally contradict it off stage, i.e, on social media. Taker says it’s a disconnect for him.

“I think it might have been Triple H using the analogy: it’s hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube. I think due to the amount of…

“One: the amount of content and then couple that with the amount of social media that our talent does, it’s just hard for me to see guys on TV trying to be one thing, and then they’re on their personal social media pages and they’re something completely different.

“It’s such a huge disconnect for me. Obviously I’m not saying that the way I did things was absolutely the right way to do it. It was the right way to do it for me,” The Undertaker said.

Taker isn’t one of the celebrities you’d see active on social media. In fact, he is one of the few wrestlers to have never broken character in his 30 plus years of work. He is an old school wrestler, and staying true to a character meant everything to him.

Superstars should concentrate more on in-ring work

The Phenom further mentions how he thinks it’s better if the Superstars would concentrate more on in-ring stuff instead of their presence on social media. He says they should figure out what they’re going to do on live TV because that’s what people watch.

This is just my thoughts, but there’s more of an emphasis on the talent’s putting on their social media than they are in their characters or whatever they’re trying to do on TV.

“I think they should just pump the brakes a little bit on the outside stuff and figure out what it is they are and what they’re going to do on TV because really that’s what people are watching,” Taker explained.

Being the old schooled person that he is, Taker feels it’s weird that people want to know everything. He believes there should be a sense of mystery surrounding the Superstar so that people will stay engaged.

Undertaker says, “They don’t need to get everything. There needs to be some sense of mystery, some mystique, some kind of something that’s not given.

Undertaker has sported one of the best gimmicks in the industry. His persona has earned him the props every time he enters into an arena.
