Chaos ensued during the contract signing segment of this week’s WWE Smackdown. The Challenger Finn Balor came out first as the crowd gave a massive pop to the former WWE Universal Champion.

The WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns followed Balor, and they both sat down to sign the contract for their proposed SummerSlam match. But things got ugly when Baron Corbin entered the ring and attacked Finn Balor.

Corbin, after throwing out Balor, nearly signed the contract. But WWE Legend John Cena showed up and tossed Corbin out of the ring. He then took the contract and signed it as an infuriated Reigns looked upon Cena.

Roman Reigns fires an array of insults at John Cena

The Minneapolis crowd was quite outspoken about Roman Reigns when he entered the ring. Reigns then started talking about the opening segment of John Cena by addressing Cena as ‘Mr. Missionary’.

By this time, the fans were filling the arena with Cena chants. Roman then looked at Finn and tried to manipulate him by stating that Cena views Balor as an inferior wrestler. Roman then explained why he chose Balor as his opponent.

Reigns added he felt Balor has the hunger and deserves a shot at the title. He then said that Balor is also very deserving of the beat down that the tribal chief plans to give him on SummerSlam. Before signing the contract, Reigns threatened ‘The Prince’ by saying that he will send Finn back to NXT.

Balor’s time to sign the contract came, and the former NXT Champion stated he would go back to NXT with the Universal title on his shoulder. But Balor couldn’t sign the contract as Baron Corbin attacked him from the back.

John Cena signs the contract to make it official

Baron attacked Finn and threw him off the ring. The former Intercontinental Champion returned to the ring and took the contract to sign it. But John Cena interrupted Corbin as the WWE Legend ran into the ring and then threw Corbin off the ring. Cena then took the contract before a wild Minneapolis crowd that was going crazy. The leader of Cenation signed the contract in front of the Tribal Chief.

The fans gave a huge pop when Cena signed the contract as they showcased their excitement for the match. Cena then left the ring in utter joy as an exasperated Reigns sat in the chair, fuming at what has happened in front of him.

So that is it, folks. It’s finally official. The 16 time WWE Champ John Cena will face the totem of supremacy Roman Reigns at the grandest stage of Summerslam for the WWE Universal Championship.
